During one interview I started coughing and could not stop. Needless to say, I did not get the job or even a second interview.
My worst interview came some years ago at what was then a leading high tech company and which today no longer exists. The meeting with the HR person went well, but the interview with the hiring manager was something else. I was interviewed by 2 people who were seated such that I could not look directly at both of them at the same time. When it became apparent that I was not an exact fit the manager turned hostile. I saw no need for this. In a professional atmosphere one ends the session and we part amiably. I it had all ended there it would have been fine. Someone there decided to check further into my background and contact a person he knew at my current place of employ and inquire about me. That person just happened to be my boss. It all actually ended well. I had to skedaddle butlanded a great job within a week and stayed there for nearly 12 years.
